Abstract:
Polymers are to various extents permeable towards gases and liquids. For proper material selection it is therefore important to be able to predict and assess their permeation properties in actual/realistic environments. This chapter deals with the basics of the transport properties of polymers and their barrier properties, with the fundamental equations of mass transport.
