Visualization of heterogeneous object models
Abstract
Given the complexities of the static and dynamic models of heterogeneous objects (HEOs) presented in the previous two chapters, visualization of models is very important in the design and manufacturing processes. This chapter describes a visualization approach based on the colorful tetrahedral model and the function of color material mapping model. Models can be used for both color 3D printing and multimaterial 3D printing. The first step of visualization is to discretize the objects, the next step is to map the colors and materials, and finally to construct a computer-aided design model that represents the heterogeneous materials in color.
