Abstract:
In this chapter a rundown of the various MIR systems made by different research teams in different countries around the world, and currently operating in diverse sectors, is presented. The question of which cultural sectors can gain an advantage by using the technology of MIR and its systems is also put forward. Biomedical research is among the more advanced areas of application, and has always involved the majority of studies and attention. Also having ample purview are applications within the field of Earth science and geographical information.
