You might imagine the typical scam artist to be slick and persuasive and possibly utilize high pressure sales tactics. This is not the case in many situations, which is why so often people get caught off guard. Most of us like to believe we are somewhat savvy and can spot a phony or sense if something is not quite right. It is because successful scam artists are so incredibly good at making people feel comfortable that they are able to execute without suspicion.
