3.4. Testing, Tuning, and the SAP System Landscape
As you realize by now, implementing and supporting an SAP solution means more than simply running a production system; on the contrary, a single SAP production solution—like R/3 or SAP APO—typically requires, at a minimum, two or more other systems that support it in one way or another. Each of the supporting systems plays a role that simply cannot be played by production; indeed, maintaining the availability of production would be nearly impossible without its supporting cast.
