4.2. Understanding Stress-Test Methods
All SAP computing environments benefit at one time or another from different approaches to performance testing and tuning, because of the simple fact that not all SAP system landscape changes dictate full-blown and relatively expensive stress testing. Instead, to test smaller-scope SAP Technology Stack changes or to evaluate new SAP business processes, platforms, and solutions, other methods tend to be both more appropriate and less taxing from a budget, people, and other resource perspective. I tend to assign these distinctive stress-testing approaches into three high-level “umbrella” methodologies or methods, discussed next.
