6.2. Essential Infrastructure, Server, and OS-Specific Tools
Before you commence a full-blown stress test, it is important to verify that each server in your system and the network infrastructure that connects these servers are optimized. Testing that begins at such a fundamental component level and then continues through systems integration to deployment will serve you well going forward. Delta testing will prove useful over and over again, too, allowing you to quantify how much faster one system's configuration is relative to another.
