There's plenty to learn when it comes to testing and tuning, no doubt about it. The technology stacks themselves take time to master, not to mention the testing and monitoring tools necessary for effective stress testing. And then the real fun begins—iteratively tweaking, configuring, and tuning your technology stack to wring the most performance possible within the constraints of your high availability mechanisms, budget, and so on.
