10.6. Data Considerations When Scripting

Although we looked at input-data considerations at length throughout Chapter 9, it's at this point in time in your stress-testing project that you must make a few very important choices with regard to scripts and data. I assume by now that you have already identified the workload that must be executed, and therefore understand the input requirements of this workload. Next, you need to

  • Take into consideration from where you will obtain the best data and how you will get these data to the test environment. For example, do you need to take a tape backup of the system of record? Or can you simply perform a file copy from a staging area across the network? Are the data small enough to be burned to a CD-ROM? ...
