12.4. Validating a Good Test Run: Initial Data Collection
Once the test run is underway, it would be nice to kick back for 1 or 2 minutes and reflect on what a great job I've done so far. Yeah, that would be nice. But there's really no time for that yet. For one thing, there are plenty of real-time monitoring details to attend to. But more than that, at this initial stage in a test run it is important to simply validate that I'm on my way to a successful run, and not a nightmare that will need to be aborted shortly. And, if possible, I'd prefer to make this determination sooner rather than later.
