A. Software Required to Use This Book
This appendix describes how to obtain the sampdb distribution needed for setting up the sample database used for examples throughout this book. To use the distribution, you must also have MySQL running. To that end, the appendix additionally indicates where to obtain MySQL and related software such as the Perl DBI and CGI.pm modules, PHP, and Apache. It also provides brief installation notes for MySQL and the required Perl and PHP software, and instructions on configuring Apache for use with PHP.
