Part I. Getting Started with MySQL and mSQL

The first section of this book starts off by introducing you to relational database concepts and design. With the proper background in place, we will dive into the details of getting started with MySQL and mSQL. Perhaps you are already committed to one of these excellent database engines and are expecting this book to help you work with that database. In that case, you can focus on your database of choice and ignore areas devoted to the other. If, on the other hand, you have yet to make a choice, this section should cover enough of the basics to help you make the right choice for your situation. By the end of this section, you should have your database installed and configured, and you should be prepared to take on the subject of database programming, which is found in Part II.
