FCC rules require stations to broadcast a specified number of announcements about the licensee’s application for license renewal both before and after the application is filed. To assist you in planning for your own renewal announcements, we provide the following for a hypothetical station—WAAA-FM, Summerfield, CA. Like all California radio stations, WAAA-FM needed to file its renewal application by August 1, 2013, for a new license to follow its existing one, which expired on December 1, 2013.
