In this recipe, we'll learn how to acknowledge problems with a host or service, in order to prevent further notifications coming from it and to signal that the problem is being worked on. This is useful if more than one administrator has access to the Nagios Core web interface, to prevent more than one administrator trying to fix a problem, and to prevent unnecessary notifications for a longer-term problem after the operations team has been made aware of it.
