Nanosystem Application in Drug Delivery
Abstract
Drug delivery to specific human organs or cells by nanocarriers with minimal side effects and toxicity is the ultimate goal of engineers. This chapter introduces and discusses the behavior of a nanoparticle, as a drug carrier, inside the human body. Then the governing equations as well as three major source terms, magnetohydrodynamics, electromagnetic, and acoustic radiation force are introduced and explained. Finally, two case studies, the application of magnetic nanoparticles and acoustic streaming in drug delivery are studied.
