Nanotubes*

Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are one of the most valuable nano-scaled materials that are still under investigation with lots of potential toward the field of nanotechnology. CNTs are generally described as carbon cylindrical molecules. They can be classified into single-walled nanotubes (single layer of graphene) and multi-walled nanotubes (multiple layers of graphene). The properties of nanotubes are classified based on mechanical properties (e.g., high tensile strain), electrical properties (semiconductivity), and thermal properties (high thermal conductors).
