Environmental, ecological, and health problems require the increasingly stringent emissions regulations of harmful and toxic gases. These regulations include corresponding limits on nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrocarbons (HC) emissions from vehicle engines [1].
