SINGLE FREQUENCY NETWORKS
A single-frequency network (SFN) consists of several transmitters, operating on a single channel and covering a service area to deliver a unitary program service or complement of such services. The signals from the various network transmitters overlap each other and have the potential to interfere with one another. Steps are taken in the design of the network to maximize the service and to minimize the interference within the network.
