INTRODUCTION
The transmitter is the last major processing block before the digital television (DTV) signal leaves the control of the broadcaster. In the transmitter, the signal is randomized and interleaved, forward error-correction coding and synchronization information is added, and critical band-shaping filtering is performed. It is important that the broadcaster verifies that all these processes have been performed correctly and that the transmitted signal meets FCC requirements.
