There have been many changes in the applications for filters, in today’s transmission facilities, in order to keep up with the ever-increasingly crowded FM spectrum. An ideal filter response curve looks like a perfect square wave as shown in Figure 7.18-10. Figure 7.18-47 shows a typical response when cross-coupling loops are added to a bandpass filter.
