AM Radio Antenna System and Field Strength Measurements
Introduction
In order to demonstrate a directional antenna system is in compliance with the terms of its FCC station license, a proof-of-performance is required. Certain arrays may employ Method of Moments analysis to demonstrate compliance. This is covered in detail in Chapter 7.13 “Antenna System Moment Method Modeling.” This chapter will detail use of the traditional field strength measurement techniques for arrays that do not qualify for such analysis or where a preference for such techniques is appropriate.
