Digital Television Proof of Performance Measurements

Introduction

A television transmitter proof of performance is a series of measurements performed to verify that the broadcast transmission meets the emission/quality requirements set forth by the FCC as well as industry accepted standards of operation.

For the purposes of this chapter, the measurements that verify the suitability of the transmitted signal for off-air reception by the viewing public will be referred to as in-band measurements.
