Abstract

Nature-inspired computation and data mining are two areas that attempt to develop novel computing techniques inspired by nature and applying them to complex real-world data, thus discovering relevant information from the big data. All the computation techniques that come under nature-inspired computing have been briefly discussed in the book chapter with respect to data mining. The major focus of the chapter is application of nature-inspired computation in data mining with benefits and challenges. Mostly used optimization techniques have been covered in detail to develop better understanding of the readers. This chapter will assist the readers as a guide to deepen the information gain and correlate with the real-world complications.
