4.1 PMI Foundational Standards
The tools, processes, techniques, and principles described in PMI's four foundational standards (PMBOK® Guide, The Standard for Program Management, The Standard for Portfolio Management, and OPM3®) form the basis for managing programs and projects. When dealing with complexity in programs and projects, these standards provide an excellent starting point for addressing the conditions of complexity brought about by issues with ambiguity, human behavior, and system behavior.
