• Know what you need: Ask only for what you need a candidate to bring to the role. If you can train on the job, don't make that a required skill.
• Network: Use the power of your network to quality check your postings and to amplify them when they get published.
• Stay curious: Use apps that check your posting language for bias, check into websites that list common skills and experience criteria for similar jobs.
• Communicate well and often: Let everyone know you're hiring and what you're looking for. Make sure your recruiters are posting your jobs in places that will attract a diverse candidate pool.

You're a security leader now, which means that you are running a team and hopefully growing it. At some point, you will need to write a job description with an accompanying job posting. The job posting will be used by recruiters to attract the best and brightest talent. You need to make sure the talent comes on board quickly; there is no time to waste. You need to ensure the posting attracts as much diverse talent as possible to ensure the best possible team. And you need to do all of this without a lot of guidance or previous examples.
