Let's recap: We've covered the metaverse and the metaverse economy. Using industry trends and data, we identified proof points as to why the metaverse economy is worth considering. We took a close look at the users and consumers to identify demographics (the who) and psychographic mindsets (the whys) behind economic activity in the metaverse. Taking examples from traditional Web 2.0 business models, we provided a few routes to consider for a metaverse strategy. Our coverage of NFT distribution breaks the landscape of dApp partners into a tidy quadrant so you can find the right places to put your strategy into motion. In the prior chapter, we did a deep dive on NFTs, because they are the “assets du jour” that are connecting consumers to companies and stimulating a ton of metaverse economy activity.

When you put all of these concepts into a framework, you'd think it would be something completely new. The metaverse economy is, after all, very much a new thing. But the framework is surprisingly familiar. You may have seen something similar in a college textbook (see Figure 8.1).

Throughout this book, we've tried to make the metaverse economy digestible to get readers from confusion to clarity. We believe the framework in Figure 8.1 does just that. We find it encouraging that at the heart of it all, developing a plan in the metaverse economy comes down to principles many businesses and innovators have seen before.
