Introduction

I am very fortunate to work with thousands of people each year—year after year. I make contacts through mentoring, consulting, and speaking; by leading training seminars and workshops; by performing project reviews and project management troubleshooting; and by writing many articles and books. These opportunities help me monitor the pulse of the people behind the projects, organizations, and companies. Throughout this journey, I have noted a common set of issues that are critical to the consistent success of these projects and organizations.
