Be Selective

THE result of a job interview is pretty much a zero-sum game. You are either hired, immediately or at a later time when a future opportunity in the same firm opens up, or you are rejected. Those who find themselves in the latter group seldom get the chance to learn the exact reasons behind the negative decision. What happens behind closed doors is referred to as selection. It is the process of collecting and evaluating information about the work-related characteristics (WRCs), the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) referred to as competencies, and the personality type of a potential job candidate.
