Troubleshooting the Collaborative Process
Abstract
This chapter introduces the Leader-Negotiator's challenge to build collaborative teams that can in turn build collaborative organizations. It asserts that the formula for organizational success is intense internal collaboration that complements a strong external mind-set. Facilitating the collaborative process is covered by discussing insights that enhance collaboration, perspectives that obstruct collaboration, ways to turn different goals into similar goals, how to establish common ground, concluding with the dilemma of trust, honesty, and openness.
