This appendix summarizes the support for the PMEs that .NET Compact Framework controls provide for elements inherited from the base Control class.

To help the first version of the .NET Compact Framework achieve an ambitious size goal, the .NET Compact Framework code controls rely on the native, unmanaged controls to do a lot of the required work. But there is a cost associated with crossing the boundary from native code to managed code, and—in support of the performance goal—not all of the inherited PMEs of the .NET Compact Framework controls are supported.
