I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Introduction
Why was this book written? To tell the truth, I don’t think I had much choice in this matter. This book is a minor revision and extension of my second IL book, Expert .NET IL Assembler, which saw the light of day in 2006, soon after version 2.0 of .NET had been released. The second book is a major revision and extension of my first IL book, Inside Microsoft .NET IL Assembler, which hit the shelves in early 2002, about a month after the release of version 1.0 of the .NET common language infrastructure (CLI). So, it is fairly obvious why I had to write the second book more than four years later, when the more powerful version 2.0 of the .NET CLI had just been released.
