Chapter 26. IPv6 Introduction
The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) has adopted Internet Protocol, version 6 (IPv6) as a replacement for Internet Protocol, version 4 (IPv4), the standard used today. This chapter provides an overview of IPv6, including routing and addressing, address autoconfiguration, neighbor discovery, and transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6.
NOTE
It is worth mentioning that IPv6 is a work in progress; therefore, it is subject to developmental changes.
