The trends have been clear for some time – the growth of IP and mobile data traffic, low-cost Ethernet ports, the revenue shift from voice to data and the packet video explosion. Network convergence, a topic of conversation for over two decades, is finally a reality. Or is it? True, these days it's mostly all packets, all the time, but we're still shy of the finish line.
