Chapter 6. Documenting the Network for Baselining

When performing a network baseline, an analyst should have a complete set of network documentation. Certain documents, such as a network topology drawing, prove extremely valuable to the network baselining or data-acquisition planning process. Documentation that specifies server configurations, router and switch configurations, operating system profiles, and protocol configuration details are also very valuable during the network baseline planning cycle.
