Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) is any hardware that is physically located at a customer site. For example, each of the following is considered CPE:

  • Servers

  • Workstations

  • Communication hardware (CSU/DSUs, modems)

  • LAN equipment (hubs, bridges, switches)

  • WAN equipment (routers)
