Summary

This chapter discussed what AAA is and how it is used to implement security in the network. Each of the three components of AAA—authentication, authorization, and accounting—provides for increasing levels of security to a network. We looked at how authentication can be set up and looked at the various services that can be authenticated. Next, we looked at a table that summarized which services can be authenticated using the various methods. We also delved into authorization and saw how it is used to control privileges for various users on a network.
