7.1 Introduction
As stated in Chapter 1, there is no technology that can deliver unlimited network bandwidth on demand for all the possible types of service. 1394 and USB, discussed in the previous chapter, are capable of offering the QoS demanded by the functionality described as live performance in the section regarding QoS in Chapter 2, to a limited number of audio channels. The exact efficiency of the interface depends upon the implementation of the upper layer protocols, or in other words, how the audio data are loaded into the frame, and how transmission is managed.
