Manually creating a DNS record

The following process can be used to create a manual DNS A record. If you have a server virtual machine available, you can follow along:

  1. Right-click in the white space and choose New Host (A or AAAA)...:

  1. Enter the FQDN and specify the IP address (IPv4 or IPv6). Optionally, you can choose the option to create a PTR record, but it should be noted that unless a reverse lookup zone has been configured, this will not work:

  1. Click Add Host once ...
