22 Network Clients

Although network administrators frequently spend a lot of time installing and configuring servers, the primary reason for the servers’ existence is the clients. The choice of applications and operating systems for your servers should be based in part on the client platforms and operating systems that have to access them. Usually it is possible for any client platform to connect to any server, one way or another, but this doesn’t mean you should choose client and server platforms freely and expect them all to work well together in every combination.
