10.1. Narrowing Down the Problem
Troubleshooting a network problem can be daunting. That's why it's best to start by trying to narrow down the source of the problem. When troubleshooting, there are five questions you should ask yourself:
Did you check the simple stuff?
Is hardware or software causing the problem?
Is it a workstation or server problem?
Which segments of the network are affected?
Are there any cabling issues?
