Responding to Participants’ Questions
In a lively, risk-free, and dynamic environment, participants will be stimulated to ask questions as well as to answer them. Although this certainly is what we want to happen, this type of participant interaction can be quite challenging for the trainer. To help you master the art of responding to questions, consider the following guidelines.
Set the Ground Rules at the Beginning
At the beginning of the session, explain to the participants how you are going to handle questions. You can offer to take questions throughout the session, you can stop at intervals and solicit questions, or you can ask participants to hold questions until the end.
