What is z/OS Batch Runtime?
In this chapter, we discuss the Batch Runtime environment, a new component that was introduced in z/OS V1R13. This component provides a new option for running batch work that is focused on Java. This new platform-neutral programming model, called the z/OS Batch Runtime, is a managed environment for Java that allows interoperability with COBOL.
