IN THE PHILLIPS HOUSEHOLD in the 1970s, Barbara was teaching, taking students to Europe, and starting a writing career. Our three daughters were moving through high school and into their college years and beyond, with adventures along the way that included a close encounter by Nina with a celebrated murderer.
