Introduction
The Mac OS X operating system brings together portions of the Mac and BSD kernels along with Nextstep's object-oriented design and graphical-user interface. Such a diverse group of ancestors makes for a superb experience in which an easy-to-use and beautifully designed graphical interface and a powerful command line with a distinct Unix feel are both available in the same box.
