Flash Modes

Selecting the best flash setting for the scene is an important part of getting your photos to look good. The Nikon D3200’s built-in flash is really useful for getting proper exposure when shooting in low light. Because the flash has more than one setting depending on the exposure or scene mode being used, it is important to be familiar with the modes available. The following are all of the flash modes on the Nikon D3200:

Auto flash mode (flashauto.eps ). In this mode, the flash fires when the camera believes that there is not enough light. As the shutter-release button is pressed, the camera uses the built-in light meter to read the amount of light in the scene. If it thinks that there is not enough light, the flash pops up and fires when the shutter-release button is pressed all of the way. This mode is available in the Automatic (auto.eps), Portrait (portrait2.eps), Child (child.eps), and Close-up (closeup.eps) modes.
