A number of accessories and additional equipment are available for the Nikon D90. They range from batteries and flashes to tripods and camera bags, and they can enhance your shooting experience by providing you with options that aren't available with the camera alone.

MB-D80 Battery Grip

The MB-D80 is arguably one of the greatest accessories you can buy for the D90. It's available only from Nikon and attaches to the bottom of your D90 with a bolt that screws into the camera's ¼-inch tripod socket (there's an additional tripod socket on the bottom of the MB-D80). Not only does this grip offer you an extended shooting life by allowing you to fit additional batteries to your camera, but it also offers the ease and convenience of a vertical Shutter Release button, Main Command and Sub-command dials, and an AE-L/AF-L button. This means that if you hold your camera in the vertical position, you can use the Shutter Release button on the MB-D80 to fire the camera and adjust settings without having to hold your camera awkwardly, with your elbow up in the air, to press the camera's Shutter Release button.

The MB-D80 also gives the camera some added weight and more real estate for gripping the camera. If you have large hands, you'll appreciate the added grip. This grip can also help to balance out the D90 when an especially large lens like the Nikkor ...
