Chapter 17. Corporate competitive envisioning

This exercise was used in the early stages of an organisational change project to get a more in-depth understanding of how the company and its competitors were being viewed by customers. It was a benchmarking exercise, but one that would put a lot of flesh on the bones of the internal reports that had been prepared thus far. Comparing turnover ratios, lead time to installation, customer satisfaction scores (and often these weren’t available) only gave a partial picture. By eliciting subjective views, we were able to gain a richer insight into the situation and use much of the material to further communicate the change process to the organisation.
