If an organization is going to provide a public service, it needs money. Plain and simple. It may be run by volunteers and need just a little money, or it may need lots of money to pay for employees, office space, and formal research. If it’s a brand-spanking-new start-up organization, it needs money, or what’s called seed funding.
Any nonprofit — whatever its purpose — grows out of someone’s idea or passion (maybe yours!) to make the world better. Raising money is inviting others to share in your belief and passion.
