I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Preface: My Personal Story
I had just finished my first lecture at the Manchester Business School and was stepping out into the hallway when a student came up to me.
“Tom, can I ask you a question?” he said.
“Sure,” I answered. “Shoot.”
He asked: “What advice do you have for people to whom success hasn’t come easily?”
I looked at him, puzzled, and replied: “But I never said it came easily for me.”
And unfortunately, it didn’t.
I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth. And I wasn´t born with a big name or a trust fund, either.
On the one hand, this book represents the collective wisdom of my personal work and interaction with the world’s leaders and ultra-successful superperformers.
