First let’s define SPAM. The Coalition Against Unsolicited Email (CAUCE) defines SPAM as unsolicited commercial e-mail. In the CAUCE definition, SPAM includes commercial proposals for products, services, or as part of a money scam, and is overtly intended to trick recipients by making the e-mail seem relevant to them.

This chapter introduces the elements of GroupWise that can assist in handling SPAM. There are also some recommendations about solutions for managing SPAM that do not come with GroupWise.
